Q: I am getting prompts asking for permission to access user information read/write constantly? Why is that?

A: To prevent that from occurring make sure you installed the application correctly and that you set the phone permissions as mentioned here. If this persists you can check out the support forum for more details specific for your issue or post a question there.


Q: Is there a time restriction for using unregistered applications?

A: Not at the moment. Unregistered applications are missing some features and prompt you with a nag screen to register, since registration is very cheap we hope that would be enough of an incentive to do the "right thing" and register.



Q: Is payment secure?

A: We use PayPal to process all financial transactions we never store any of your credit details in our web site, their system is very secure.



Registration CodeQ: How do I register?

A: First you need to install the application and make sure it is running properly, if it works as you expect write down the number it shows on startup (pictured to the right). You go to this page and fill out your email/registration code (pictured on the right) then pay using our secure server. Once your payment is processed you will receive an email with a code to the email address you filled out, type that code into the box at the registration screen (pictured in blue to the right) to complete your registration.



Q: Will your applications work on my phone?

A: Try them, its free and risk free since our applications are completely secure. Our applications are signed by Verisign and can't damage your mobile device in any way.
We regularly test on Nokia's, Sony Ericsson & Motorola devices however we work well on many Samsung, LG devices and many other brands.



Q: I didn't get the email with the registration key, what do I do?
I upgraded my phone and the old key no longer works, can I use my old license?

A: You need to either recover or create a new license based on the email you used to register. You can use this tool to immediately recover a key or create a new key (a limited number of new keys can be generated).



Q: Can I install majimob applications to my devices home screen?

A: We are currently only aware about S60 devices, if there are others that can do it let us know.
For Nokia S60 devices go to the main menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> Standby Mode -> Active standby apps
then pick one of the positions for the application.



Q: Song information doesn't appear in MajiPlayer despite the fact that other players show this information, is this a bug?

A: MajiPlayer only supports the newer standard for MP3 tagging (ID3v2) and currently doesn't support the older version of the standard (ID3v1). The main reason we dropped support for it is the very slow performance, since it requires seeking to the end of the file which isn't supported on most devices. You can update your song tagging information using commonly available software on the internet and also include information such as album art into the files which MajiPlayer can also display.



Q: Where is your privacy policy?

A: We are working on such a document, currently there is none since we don't collect any personal information about users. However, we do use Google advertising in this web site which has the following notice:
  • Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on your site.
  • Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.
