MajiPlayer version 1.1 introduced support for lyrics download and playback using the LRC industry standard. LRC files allow binding between music and lyrics by placing time markers within the lyrics indicating the time where a given lyric should be displayed. To utilize MajiPlayer's lyrics support you can either enable automatic lyric download in the settings or place a lyrics file with the same name as the audio file with an "lrc" extension. MajiPlayer downloads lyrics dynamically from http://www.lyrdb.com/ one of the leading Lyrics sites on the web, however while it has many lyric files most of them do not have the time markers in place. When trying to download lyrics, MajiPlayer connects to lyrics DB to search for lyrics if no lyrics are found it tries to find the words of the song and attach times to them (in 5 second intervals) thus creating "fake lyrics". These might be helpful for people who are curious about the song lyrics and also a useful tool for people who wish to create "proper" lyrics files. When creating such lyrics files yourselves please be sure to contribute them back to the lyrics DB project so other people can benefit from your work. You can find additional lyric files over the internet and replace some of the defaults downloaded by MajiPlayer, there are several desktop based lyrics editors allowing you to create your own LRC files. Common problems you might have with the lyrics file are related to synchronization of the lyrics with the audio, these can be fixed by using a lyrics editor or locating proper lyrics on the web. Keep in mind that the same song by the same band often has multiple different variations that have different lyric timings. |
